Hydrogels have been used for biomedical applications owing to their biocompatibility. However, the hydrogel has some limitations such as poor mechanical stability and fast release of the incorporated drug. To overcome these problems, we prepared Layer-by-Layer (LbL) self-assembly films on collagen hydrogels (Col-H) to develop multifunctional hydrogel. We prepared LbL films with tannic acid and lignin. In addition, we incorporated doxorubicin as a model drug into Col-H. The Col-H coated with the LbL films showed sustained release kinetics than bare Col-H. The DOX-incorporated Col-H with LbL films has anticancer effect and various properties such as enhance mechanical stability and antibacterial effect. |
