Synthesis and Characterization of Silver Core Cu2O Shell Nanoparticles |

The electromagnetic enhancement (EM) effect, one of the SERS enhancement factors, has been extensively studied and proved to play a very important role in SERS enhancement. However, the EM effect alone can not explain the SERS enhancement phenomenon. Even with materials with similar Raman cross-sections, the signal of a substance that can be chemically adsorbed on the surface of metal nanoparticles (NP) has been greatly improved. Therefore, it is necessary to study the charge transfer (CT) between the substance and the metal NP surface. Semiconductors have an energy gap between the whole valence band and the vacant conduction band, which can help to understand the CT between the semiconductor nanomaterial and the molecule. In this study, Ag core Cu2O shell NP were synthesized and the characteristics of them were investigated by UV-Vis, Raman, XRD and XPS. Details on analysis of Ag@Cu2O NPs will be discussed in this presentation. |
