Preparation of nanoparticles using ionic complex |

To make an attemp to stabilize the bioactive compound such as vitami C and licorice extract that have been used as whitening agent in cosmetic industry. These compounds are very labile against light, oxygen and heat. Complexation of the compounds using ionic interaction could produce the nanoparticles that may prolong the longevity of the bioactivity. Chitosan and its derivatives are employed as cationic polymer. Nano-complex between the anionic bioactive compoun and chitosans was evaluated using particle analyser, TEM and HPLC. It indicated that more than 90% of the bioactive compound could be captured in nano-complex particles and the size of te particles are distribution in range of 40-300 nm. |
