제목 Synthesis of Polymer Brushes Grown from Modified Silica Particle via Living Anionic Surface Initiated Polymerization (LASIP)
초록 The synthesis of polydiene brushes grafted from modified nanoparticulate silica by living anionic surface initiated polymerization were described. Immobilized double bonds on the surface of the nano-silica particles were first initiated using sec-buthyl litium(BuLi) in the presence a variety of additive such as N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylethylenediamine, lithium tert-butoxide and Triisobuty aluminum respectively. Follwing the sequence of polymerization by addition of monomer and termination gave polymer brushes. The importance of careful activation of the particle initiator, control of polymerization conditions, and removal of excess BuLi were emphasized. The microstructure of polymer brushes and grafting efficiency as well as grafting density could be controlled with variation of reaction conditions. The molecular weights and the molecular weight distributions of the synthesized polymer brushes were measured using GPC. The microstructures and the compositions were characterized by 1H-NMR
