Low temperature propylene SCR of NOx by copper alumina catalyst |

NOx reduction to N2 by C3H6 was investigated for Cu-Al2O3 catalysts prepared by precipitation method. It was found that the catalyst preparation method as well as the Cu content exerts a significant influence on catalyst activity. The prepared catalysts were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, DT/TGA, BET-SA, XPS, TPR, TPD and SEM. The ovendried samples were showed the presence Layered Double Hydroxides and it was confirmed by XRD and FT-IR. The results of XPS show that the Cu-Al (30-70) catalysts calcined at 500° C possess highly dispersed surface CuO and CuAl2O4 phases and also confirmed by TPR. A high conversion (62%) of NOx to N2 was obtained by Cu-Al (30-70) catalyst at 300°C in presence of 600ppm NOx+ 600ppm C3H6+ 8vol% O2. |
