Carbon monoxide(CO) is a significant byproduct gas in chemical industry and CO separation is a key process in various applications such as C1 chemistry, etc. Herein, we present accelerated CO transport of high-performance mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) with dual carriers which consist of comb copolymer-Ag ions-Ag nanoparticle-incorporated MIL-101. Polymer matrix, poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-poly(oxyethylene methacrylate) (PGO) has adhesive property, resulting good compatibility with fillers and excellent interfacial properties. Ag ions and Ag@MIL-101 were chosen as dual carriers since Ag ions form Ag-CO complexes and Ag@MIL-101 provides effective cages generating additional interactions with Ag ions. Among fabricated MMMs, the one with 10 wt% loading of Ag@MIL-101 showed the highest separation performance with CO permeance of 30.7 GPU and CO/N2 selectivity of 11.8 whereas the one without Ag@MIL-101 showed reduced performance. |
