제목 Degradation of poly (ε-caprolactone) grafted dextran fibers and films in phosphate buffered saline
초록 In this study poly(ε-caprolactone)grafted dextran(PGD) nanofibers and films were prepared from high molecular weight PGD by electrospinning and solvent evaporation, respectively. For both the cases, increase in the crystalline temperature(Tc) and heat of fusion was detected;this indicated that preferential hydrolytic degradation in the amorphous regions occurred followed by cleavage-induced crystallization.During the progress of hydrolysis,GPC chromatograms appeared bimodal for fibers and bi and tri-modal for the films. After 150 days of degradation, the pH was steady at 5.8 ± 0.3 for fibers and 6.1 ± 0.3 for films. This is mainly because of the morphological difference between fibers and films. The thicker film favors more autocatalysis then the fiber. Also the physical and molecular weight loss was faster in cases of films. This study suggests the application potential of PGD matrices in the fields of tissue engineering.
