제목 High performance superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoclusters by tuning primary nanoparticles for T2 contrast agent
초록 For decades, iron oxide (Fe3O4) nanoparticles have served as the important material in the biomedical research field, especially in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The relaxation rates of water protons of magnetic nanoparticles for MRI are strongly dependent on their size and magnetic characteristics. Increasing nanoparticle size increases the relaxivity, but also induces the superparamagneticferromagnetic transition. Herein, we make magnetic nanoclusters tuning the primary nanoparticles while maintaining the superparamagnetic properties. The superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoclusters have showed superior T2-relaxivity. As-prepared magnetic nanoclusters are stable in solution and demonstrate superior T2-relaxivity to that of conventional iron oxide nanoparticles.
