Confirmation of targeting ability of Aptamer conjugated magnetic nanoparticles via magnetic resonance imaging |

The understanding of neovascularization and/or angiogenesis in cancer is acutely required for effective cancer therapy due to the concern about tumor growth and metastasis. In particular, integrin αvβ3 is closely associated with the cell migration and invasion during angiogenesis. Hence, we developed aptamerαvβ3 conjugated magnetic nano-particles (Aptαvβ3-MNPs) enabling precise detection of integrin expressed cancer using MR imaging. Aptαvβ3- MNPs exhibited not only biocompatibility but also efficient targeting ability with high magnetic sensitivity through in vitro/in vivo studies. On the basis of this study, we demonstrate that Aptαvβ3- MNPs have the potentially ability to accurate tumor diagnosis and therapy. |
