제목 Dispersion of Magnetite Nanocrystals into Hybrid Aerogel and Its Hyperthermia Application
초록 Magnetitie nanoparticles with 10nm could be synthesized homogeneously on large scale and have been attracted for their application to Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) contrast agents and nanomagnetic memory devices. They also show hyperthermia phenomenon by transforming alternative magnetic energy into thermal energy. Which are applied for cancer killing by megnetic hyperthermia treatment. However magnetic nanoparticles easily aggreagated each other. and so are difficult to disperse with long-term stability. Many researchers tried to modify the surface of magnetite nanoparticles with oleic acid or dispersing agents.

This study would like to present the dispersion of magnetite nanoparticles into hybrid aerogel. Which are comprised of nanopores with about 10~ hundreds nanometers in diameter. We adopted the method of supercritical drying for the synthesis of hybrid aerogels Methyltriethoxysilane-based gels were synthesized and supercritically dried at 40oC and 100bar. After obtaining hybrid aerogels. Magnetite nanoparticles were infiltrated into the aerogels. Another method of magnetite nanoparticles infiltration is to synthesize the nanoparticles of magnetite crystals in hybrid aerogels and we found it by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The size of magnetic nanoparticles were oberserved as about 10~20nm by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The magnetic properties of magnetite nanoparticles dispeersed in hybrid aerogels were measured by Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM).

In conclusion this study shows the possibility of magnetite nanoparticles within hybrid aerogels and suggests the application of hyperthermical materials.
