Multifunctional magnetoplasmonic (Au–Fe x O y ) nanomaterials synthesized by iron oxide and gold have been attractive to their biomedical applications. In this ariticle, their unique synthesis and characteristics are introduced to show integration the magnetic and plasmonic properties in a single nanoparticle with different morphological traits. We also showed cytotoxicity of magnetoplasmonic nanoparticles by in vitro and in vivo studies for further applications such as biosensor, bioseparation, multimodal imaging, and therapeutics |
