제목 A Facile Route to Synthesize Star-Shaped Polystyrene Nanocomposites with Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane Core Using RAFT Polymerization
초록 Star-shaped polymers with POSS core have been synthesized via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. Initially, octa(3-mercaptopropyl) polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane was synthesized by hydrolytic condensation of 3-mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane which was further used to synthesize RAFT agent by reacting with carbon disulfide, (1-Bromoethyl) benzene and using K3PO4 as basic catalyst in acetone as solvent. Polymerization of styrene was conducted in THF solvent in presence of AIBN initator at 110° C temperature. 1H-NMR, FT-IR, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) were used to characterize the hybrid star polymers.
