Nylon 11 is a biobased polyamide derived from vegetable oil and is widely used in industrial field from automotive to offshore oilfield application since it possesses excellent piezoelectric behavior, good cryogenic, oil resistance and water resistance properties. Nucleating agents are generally added to semicrystalline polymers to improve productivity in mold processing by increasing crystallization rate and to obtain improved physical and mechanical properties. In this study, we used polyamide 2,2 (PA 2,2, Brueggolen® P22) as a nucleating agent for nylon 11. Influence of the nucleating agent on crystallization behaviors and mechanical properties of nylon 11 was investigated by DSC, POM, DMA, and UTM. |
