Permeability of free volume generated poly(vinylpyrrolidone) membrane by incorporation of Ag nanoparticles |
초록 |
For nearly a decade, inorganic particles into a polymer matrix have been incorporated to advance the performance of gas separation membranes. Recently, it has been reported that the addition of nonporous fumed silica can change polymer chain packing in glassy, high-free-volume polymers resulting in an increase in free volume, consequently a significant enhancement in permeability. In this study, the gas transport phenomena of the poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) with embedded Ag nanoparticles (NPs) have been studied. Furthermore, the effect of PVP/Ag NPs interface to gas transport properties was also investigated. Consequently, the permeability of gas molecules through glassy polymer membranes such as PVP could be modulated by applying Ag NPs. |
