This study presents the effects of the friction and wear properties of the blends of phenolic resins and binder pitches were applied as a matrix precursor for carbon/carbon(C/C) composites. C/C composites were prepared though the processes of several cycles of binder pitch impregnation and re-carbonization. The friction and wear properties of the C/C composites were investigated using a constant speed wear test apparatus in an oxidation environment. And the resultant blends were characterized by basic analytical procedures (elemental analysis, softening point, carbon yield, solubility), thermal analysis, and optical microscopy. |
