A highly transparent and stable metallopolymer was obtained by using poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC), ferric chloride hexahydrate and trimethylolpropane tris(3-mercaptopropionate). The prepared metallopolymer dispersion showed very good hydrophobic and oleophobic properties, stable for more than six months and easily form a thin film by spin coating and membrane by casting method. The functional group changes during the reaction and surface morphologies of the obtained films were analyzed by UV, FTIR and HR-SEM. The hydrophobic and oleophobic properties of the metallopolymer were measured by contact angle measurement using water and methylene iodide. The obtained results showed the possibilities of using the metallopolymer for various applications. |
