제목 Near infrared light-triggered drug release from alginate nanoparticles by bubble generation
초록 Herein, we propose alginate-melanin-perfluorohexane (AMP) nanoparticles for near-infrared (NIR) light-triggered drug release by bubble generating through photothermal effect. The AMP nanoparticles had spherical shape with a size of 279.52±0.39 nm and showed no precipitation in physiological fluid. Due to the photothermal properties of melanin, the temperature of the AMP nanoparticles was increased to about 52.9℃ after 808 nm NIR laser irradiation at a power density of 1.5 W/cm2 for 10 min. As perfluorohexane in AMP nanoparticles reached the phase transition temperature by the heat generation of melanin, bubbles were generated effectively. The release rate of methotrexate from the AMP nanoparticles increased rapidly due to the heat generation and bubble generation by laser irradiation. From these results, we expect that AMP nanoparticles can be utilized as promising carriers for controlled drug release by NIR laser irradiation.
