Synthesis of Cardanol-based Polymers containing Long Alkyl Side Chains for Middle Distillate Flow Improver |
초록 |
Comb-like polymers which have paraffin-like side chain moieties are synthesized from 3-pentadecylphenol (PDP), a cardanol derivative, and applied to middle distillate flow improver (MDFI). Various comb-like polymers containing alkyl side chains were synthesized and characterized. The hundreds ppm of these polymers can improve the cold properties (cloud point, cold filter plugging point, pour point) by co-crystallization with the paraffin in diesel. As a result, PPDPA is highly effective on the cold properties, especially for the CFPP. It is noteworthy that PPDPA not only reduces CFPP but also lowers CP which is not appeared in conventional MDFI polymers. |
