Abnormal charge carrier transport in highly efficient Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 absorber thin-films on flexible Mo-foil substrates |

Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) thin films were grown by sulfo-selenization of pure-metal precursors sputtered on flexible Mo-foil, whose power conversion efficiency (PCE) over 10%. So far, the best PCE of CZTSSe solar cells on glass substrates is 12.6%. In this study, high-efficient CZTSSe thin films were probed by scanning probe microscopy. Combined with micro-Raman, conductive atomic force microscopy and Kelvin probe force microscopy can indicate optoelectrical properties of the kesterite thin-film surfaces. Unlike Cu(In,Ga)Se2 and conventional CZTSSe thin films on glass, flexible CZTSSe thin films were grown in relatively low temperature. Thus, defect states whose formation energy is relatively low can be formed near grain boundaries. Their energy level can be deep, which can be severe carrier recombination centers and cannot be appropriate current flow path. By comprehendingthe optoelectronic properties of the materials, we can expect better performance of CZTSSe thin-film solar cells. |
