제목 MMA Polymerization of Generation of Activators by Monomer Addition (GAMA) ATRP in the Presence of ppm Amount of Fe (III) Catalyst with Phosphorus Containing Ligands
초록 MMA (methyl methacrylate) polymerization via generation of activators by monomer addition (GAMA) for atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) has been examined in the presence of a reduced amount of catalyst with various phosphorus containing ligands. In every instance of their ATRP behavior studies, most of these systems were well controlled. Phosphorus ligands such as DPMPP (diphenyl-(2-methoxy phenyl) phosphine), DPPP (2-(diphenylphosphino) pyridine), DPPB (2-(diphenylphosphino) benzaldehyde), TPP (Triphenyl-phosphine) were applied for the Fe(III)-mediated GAMA ATRP system. Among the ligands investigated, DPMPP is the best phosphorus ligands to ppm amount of Fe-catalyzed system. The polymerizations demonstrated the features of ‘‘living’’/controlled free-radical polymerization, such as the numberaverage molecular weights increasing linearly with monomer conversion and narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn<1.3), even well if the amount of Fe (III) is as low as 10ppm.
