Multiperiod operational planning and real-time optimization (RTO) have large economic effects on plant operations and many researches had been accomplished. However, few researches about their integration have been reported although it is very important to practice in real plants. The integration methodology of multiperiod operational planning and RTO is proposed for industrial utility plants using the prescription repairing. The multiperiod operational planning is decomposed into two levels considering internal energy demands. The prescription repairing is constructed by knowledge based inference system. The efficient index of utility pumps (UP) is introduced to select the driving forces of UP without integer programming. RTO is implemented with the fixed configuration determined from the multiperiod operational planning and prescription repairing. Two case studies show that proposed methodology is more profitable than the conventional method. The operational cost is reduced by 1.0 ~ 9.0 % under the timing errors and 0.6~2.0 % under the quantity errors compared with the conventional method. The prescription repairing is indispensable to integrate the multiperiod planning and RTO in order to recover the infeasible configuration and obtain the more optimal configurations. |
