Improving the Photovoltaic Performances via Treatment of ZnO with Self-Assembled Monolayer |

Organic solar cells (OSCs) based on a bulk heterojuncion (BHJ) are considerd as potential research field because of their mechanical flexibilty, transparency, light weight, and low cost solvent processability. In the past few decades, researchers have expended tremendous effort to improve power conversion effciency (PCE) of OSCs. In this study, we introduce 3 types of benzoic acid (BA) derivatives such as 4-methoxybenzoic acid (MBA), 4-tertbutylbenzoic acid (BBA), and 4-fluorobenzoic acid (FBA) as a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) between ZnO and Active layer. The work function and surface morphology of ZnO is easily controlled by the SMA molecules because they have different dipole orientation and magnitude. Herein, we demonstrate the effect of the SAM molecules on photovoltaic performances. |
