The purpose of this study is to investigate and optimize the effect of Cu loading on Cu-Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 catalysts in severe conditions (GHSV = 150,494 h-1) for compact reformers. Cu loading was changed from 20wt.% to 90wt.% to obtain highly active co-precipitated Cu-Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 catalysts for low temperature water gas shift reaction (LT-WGS). 80wt.% Cu-Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 exhibited the highest CO conversion (XCO > 27% at 240oC for 50h) among the prepared catalysts. The excellent catalytic performance is mainly due to low activation energy (Ea) and large amount of surface Cu atoms. The effect of Cu loading on Cu-Ce0.8Zr0.2O2 catalysts was characterized by BET, XRD, N2O-chemisorption, TPR, and related to the activity results in LT-WGS. |
