Four types of biomass including palm kernel cake (PKC), spent coffee (coffee), pine and oak wood, were applied for fast pyrolysis in the micro-tubular reactor at temperatures from 550 - 750oC. The bio-oil and char yields obtaining from pyrolyzing non-cellulosic biomass (PKC and coffee) in the reactor were higher than those from cellulosic biomass (pine and oak wood) as opposed to gas yields. Regardless of the biomass feedstock, gas products were qualitatively similar, mainly consisting of methane, ethane, ethylene, and propane. |
