Performance enhancement of carbon nanotubes-based NO2 gas sensor using LB technique |

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT)–based gas sensors have been studied to detect toxic molecules in various fields such as control of chemical process, agricultural and medical applications. We fabricated the 2-D SWNT-based NO2 gas sensor and compared with 3-D network SWNT film by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique and vacuum filtration method, respectively. We measured resistance change at room temperature by 2-wire multimeter and observed their surface morphology by scanning electron microscope (SEM). As a result, we found that 2-D SWNT LB film showed more sensitive response than 3-D network SWNT film for NO2 gas. Hence, performance of SWNT-based sensor for NO2 gas improved by LB technique. |
