Na-β- alumina is effectively utilized in molten sodium or sodium sulfur batteries for high voltage purposes. In order to get high energy density and power density, the Na-β-alumina tubular saparator can be potentially use in non-aqueous RFBs. In the present investigation, the Na-β-alumina separator performance evaluated using vanadium (III) acetylacetonate in acetonitrile medium. Initial charging-discharging of Na-β-alumina was performed by ptentiostatic mode using three different applied potentials (4.5V, 5.5 V and 6.0 V) with charging and discharging time difference of 30, 45 and 60 min. A columbic and energy efficiencies were calculated using the charging-discharging data. In separate charging-discharging experiment using Nafion324 membrane was performed and compared the columbic and energy efficiencies. |
