Cyclodextrins(CyDs) are cyclic oligosaccharides that have hydrophobic cavity and hydrophilic exterior rim. Using their cavities, CyDs have been used to dissolve hydrophobic drugs in water media through host-guest complexation. Obtaining solid phase of high-density CyDs may have useful potential application, however, processibility of regular for solid film is limited. Therefore, we synthesized high molecular cyclodextrins with additional functional groups. These cyclodextrin oligomers are still water-soluble, and therefore, we could construct nano-films of these oligomers with oppositely charged polyelectrolytes by layer-by-layer dip-coating process. We constructed various compoditions of CyD-containing nano-flims and studied their physical properties including biocompatibility. |
