제목 Preparation of β-cyclodextrin decorated magnetic multiwall carbon nanotubes for methyl orange removal
초록 β-Cyclodextrin decorated magnetic multiwall carbon nanotubes (MMWNT-βCD) were prepared with facile route, which showed highly effective adsorption for methyl orange as representative dyes from wastewater. Poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) was covalently grafted onto the magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) surfaces by the RAFT polymerization using glycidyl methacrylate which contains epoxy groups as a monomer. The PGMA grafted MNP and multiwall carbon nanotubes were functionalized with β-cyclodextrin to afford MMWNT-βCD by ring-opening epoxy reaction of mono-6-deoxy-6-hexanediamine-β-cyclodextrin. The obtained MMWNT-βCD were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, TGA, SEM, TEM and vibrating sample magnetometry analyses. These interesting MMWNT-βCD nanoadsorbents showed remarkably adsorption capacity compared with magnetic multiwall carbon nanotubes in the removal of methyl orange from aqueous solution.
