We evaluated WVTRs(water vapor transmission rates) of high barrier-coated transparent polymer substrates by electrical calcium cell test and compared the results with those of MOCON measurement. It had about 10% error showing high reliability of measurement values of electrical calcium test. For accelerated tests, the temperature dependence of WVTRs for both Al2O3 and Al2O3/ZrO2 nanolaminate film-coated substrates was determined in terms of the activation energy of water penetration. With the WVTRs obtained by accelerated tests at 85 ℃, 85% RH and the activation energy, high barrier properties of the substrates at ambient condition(20 ℃, 50% RH) could be estimated with high reliability within much shorter time. |
