Influence of Nanostructured TiO2 Films to Different Concentrations on Photovoltaic Performances of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells |

Three kinds of nanostructured TiO2 films, namely 17 wt% of TiO2 concentration (TiO2-17), 20 wt% of TiO2 concentration (TiO2-20), and 24 wt% of TiO2 concentration (TiO2-24), were prepared using the sol-gel method and characterized by TEM, SEM, BET, and XRD. The crystal structures of nanostructured TiO2 films showed both anatase and rutile phase in the XRD pattern. The influence of nanostructured TiO2 films prepared from different concentrations on the photovoltaic performance of DSSC was discussed. The nanostructured TiO2 films were applied to the working electrode of the DSSC device and the power conversion efficiencies of the DSSC devices showed 3.49 – 4.27 %. Although higher surface area (107 m2/g) of the nanostructured TiO2-24 film resulted in higher photocurrent density (10.06 mA/m2) on the DSSC device, the DSSC device using the nanostructured TiO2-20 film having larger pore volume (0.13 m3/g) showed the highest efficiency (4.27 %) due to the improvement of the fill factor. |
