제목 | Production of Hydrogel from Kraft Lignin: Technoeconomic Analysis and Lifecycle Assessment |
초록 | Lignin is a natural polymer of randomly cross-linked, hydroxylated and methoxylated phenylpropane units. Often in second generation bioethanol production process, lignin is a by-product and is used in the boilers for steam generation. To widen the scope of lignin valorization, lignin-based hydrogels can be explored. In the field of biomedical research, hydrogels have gained immense interest owing to their applications as biomimetic scaffolds, wound healing and drug delivery agents, etc. In this paper, technoeconomic analysis and life cycle assessment has been examined for the production of hydrogel from Kraft lignin. This would provide an insight into the commercial viability of the proposed process along with its sustainability analysis. |
