제목 Influence of Surfaces and importance of structure direction in the perspective of nucleation and growth of thin films/nanomaterials
초록 Growth of nanomaterials is always fascinating and provide a lot of stimulus in understanding the mechanism further. Thermodynamics and mass transfer play a crucial role while growing the materials heterogeneously. In lieu of this, here, we present two different mechanisms to understand the role of surfaces and structure directing agents via experimental evidences of growing metal sulfide and metal oxide, respectively. Metal sulfide (for e.g. tin sulfide) was grown on various surfaces such as glass, quartz and FTO to realize the influence of substrates. On the other hand, the effect of structure directing agents and its mechanism was explained via monitoring the growth process of metal oxide step-by-step in its due course. These two examples enable not only to appreciate the importance of bottom-up approach but also aids in comprehending the growth dynamics in-situ. With the help of scanning electron microscopic images, a bird’s-eye view of the growth process was demonstrated briefly. Therefore, we believe this short presentation would be interesting and much helpful for the materials chemistry enthusiasts for growing materials.
