In this paper CNTs was nickel plated to maintain high electrical conductivity and strong corrosion resistance from both materials for Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding efficiency. However, CNTs have low dispersion property by Van der Waals interaction results in lowering mechanical and electrical performance. Therefore, CNTs was oxyfluorinated to introduce negative charge functional groups on the surface and enhance the dispersion properties. Relation between polar functional groups with electroless Ni-plating and EMI shielding effects was also investigated. EMI sample were prepared by bar-coating Ni-plated CNTs paste on polyimide film. The SEM images showed the amount of electroless plated nickel on the CNTs increased uniformly followed by introduced fluorine. Ni-plated oxyfluorinated CNTs showed the best EMI shielding efficiency of 19.4dB at 1GHz. Through this work, oxyfluorination have effected to enhance Ni-plating and EMI shielding efficiency. |
