제목 NOVEL PHOTOCROSSLINKING NONLINEAR OPTICAL POLYMER SYSTEMS
초록 We designed and synthesized novel photocrosslinking nonlinear optical (NLO) polymer systems, where photocrosslinking cinnamate group and NLO chromophore are attached as the side groups. NLO chromophore in the polymer cast film was aligned by applying an electric field at an elevated temperature, followed by subsequent crosslinking by irradiating UV light. We expect the photoinduced crosslinking keeps the NLO molecules from relaxing to random orientation. We confirmed dipole orientation of NLO moiety by changes of absorbances of the NLO moiety in the UV-vis and FT-IR spectra before and after poling. The poled and crosslinked polymer system showed no decay, while uncrosslinked polymer exhibited rapid and huge decay. We confirmed photocrosslinking network structure keeps the NLO molecules from relaxing to random orientation.
