제목 A facile surface modification of graphene membrane to enhance water permeability
초록 We introduce a facile surface modification that can enhance water permeability of the graphene membrane with simple plasma treatment. Although graphene membranes reported so far showed much higher permeability than commercial nanofiltration membrane (NF), Rejection of monovalent and divalent salts is inferior to that of commercial NF. The graphene membranes was functionalized with chelates to improve ion rejection of the graphene membrane but the functionalization accompanied decrease in water permeability. O2 plasma treatment was carried out on the surface of the graphene to enhance water permeability of the graphene membrane that was functionalized with the chelates. As a result, the treatment made the surface more hydrophilic than untreated surface and dramatically increased water permeability of the graphene membrane without sacrificing the rejection performance of the membrane.
