제목 Practical synthetic method for conjugated polymer materials in OPV application
초록 Conjugated polymers are promising materials for organic photovoltaics (OPVs). For wide applications of OPVs, a new synthetic method for conjugated polymers is required because conventional methods do not satisfy requirements in cost and environmental consideration. The conventional methods require metal-containing monomers such as organotin compounds causing cost and environmental issues because of their multi-step synthesis and toxicity. For overcoming these issues, our group has developed a polycondensation reaction via direct C-H arylation to avoid the use of metal-containing monomers. The optimization of reaction conditions enabled to afford conjugated polymers with high molecular weight and high purity which are regarded as important factors inproving OPV performances. In fact, the obtained polymer showed better performance in OPV (4%) than same polymer prepared by a conventional method (0.5%).1 [1] J. Kuwabara et al., Adv. Funct. Mater., 24, 3226 (2014).
