Turmeric(Curcuma longa) were a traditional oriental medicine herbs(OMHs) and food material used for anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory diseases. Thus bisdemethoxycurcumin(BDMC), demethoxycurcumin(DMC) and curcumin have bioactivity effects as antioxidant. To efficiently extract the curcuminoids from turmeric, the extracted samples were simultaneously separated and analyzed via commercial C18 RP-HPLC using combined water and acetonitrile as the mobile phase in the isocratic elution mode. In this work, free radical scavengers in the curcuminoids of turmeric were screened, identified, quantified and isolation using coupled off-line-ABTS and on-line screening HPLC-ABTS assay. |
