The tetra-alkoxy silane was synthesized by the reaction with silicon metal and alcohol in presence of sodium catalyst. The compounds were affected by temperature, alcohol feeding speed and retention time of alcohol in solution of metal and catalyst. After synthesis of alkoxysilane, this compounds were used to synthesis of nano-silica which was synthesized by reaction of alkoxysilane and H2O in presence of base catalyst. The nano silica was applied to the optical clear resin (OCR) to develop properties such as good optical transmittance and low H2O/O2 transmittance. The synthesized alkoxysilane, nano-silica and the composite was analyzed by SEM, TEM, UV-Vis, Gas permeability. We will discuss the synthesis of tetra-alkoxy silane and nano silica, and the application of OCR. |
