제목 Improvement of thermal and mechanical properties of polyethersulfone/nanosilica added epoxy composite resin for marine application
초록 Epoxy resins are widely used as matrices for advanced composites because of their many useful properties such as high modulus, low creep, and good adhesive and chemical resistance. In contrast, epoxy resins are releatively brittle with reduced resistance to crack initiation and propagation. In marin condition, seawater degradation can cause swelling and plasticization of the polymer matrix and debonding at the fiber-resin matrix interface that may reduce the mechanical properties. In this work, our aim was to develop epoxy resin for marin application not only with sustained mechanical properties in seawater conditions (e.g. flexural strength, tensile strength, fracture toughness) but also with improved flame retardant properties. Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A(DGEBA) Epoxy resin was used as matrix. Isophrone diamine was used as curing agent. PES(polyethersulfone)-nanosilica was synthesized as functional additives and dispersed in epoxy to evaluate these physical properties.
