제목 A research on the improvement of biocompatibility of titanium by ions implantation.
초록 Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made by special metals such as titanium that are implanted into bones to perform the same functions as the original teeth. It is reported that in patients with diabetes or osteoporosis, the rate of implant failure rapidly increases due to peri-implantitis. Ion implantation technology is a powerful tools of surface modification of various materials. Unlike conventional surface modification methods, it has not peeling effect, because there is no interface between the base material and implanted ions layer. In addition, ion implantation method has a several good points such as improving biocompatibility, surface hardness, and surface wettability. In this study, we evaluated the chemical/physical properties of the titanium surface by ions implantation. We would like to present detailed results at this conference.
