제목 Preparation and Abrasion properties of SBS(polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene) triblock Copolymer - Layered Clay Nanocomposites
초록 SBS(polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene) have been used as a shoes outsole due to its character as a thermoplastic properties whereas it’s poor abrasion characteristic limits application window. While polymer/clay nanocomposites often show desirable improvement in physical properties compared to neat polymer or micro filler dispersed, relatively few researches related to SBS(polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene) triblock Copolymer-Clay Nanocomposites have been reported1,2. In this study, the nanoscale dispersion of clay in the matrix of SBS polymer with different structure was considered, since radial structure is known to be beneficial to the dispersion of clay3. In order to increase the dispersion of clay on the nanoscale combination of SBS with different structure was considered in this study. Accordingly mechanical properties and abrasion behavior of resulted composites was expected to be improved. Dispersion of and processibility of resulted nanocomposites was balanced by changing the ratio of radial to linear structured SBS. A mixture of linear and radial type SBS/clay nanocomposites was prepared by direct melt blending method using a brabender mixer at a temperature of 130oC. The d spacing and the degree of dispersion in the nanocomposites were investigated by using X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) respectively. The morphology of worn surface was also studied by SEM.
