제목 Investigation into rheological properties and gelation behavior of polyacrylonitrile in different solvent systems.
초록 The rheological properties and gelation behaviors of poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) solutions in two different solvent systems were investigated in terms of temperature and concentration. As a very popular solvent for polyacrylonitrile, dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) had different solvation mechanism when they dissolved the PAN. The rheological properties of PAN/DMF and PAN/DMSO solutions were measured by advanced rheometric expansion system (ARES). These different features suggested that two solvents had different effects of polyacrylonitrile respectively. The gelation behaviors of PAN solutions were demonstrated by measuring the gelation temperature and observing history on the gelation. The gelation temperature is measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Concentrated the two PAN solutions were observed until the solutions turn into elastic gel. Experimental results revealed that PAN solutions formed the thermal-induced PAN gel which is thermoreversible.
