Effect of the multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) dispersion in the polycarbonate (PC)/acrylonitrile-butadiene-stylene(ABS) blends were investigated by double percolation effect. The PC/ABS (80/20, 50/50, 20/80) nanocomposites with the MWCNT (0.1 ~ 5 wt %) were prepared using a twin screw extruder. The effect of double percolation on the electrical, rheological and morphological properties of the PC, ABS and MWCNT composites was observed. Interestingly, from the TEM image, almost of MWCNTs were exclusively located within the ABS phase. And when the ratio of PC and ABS was 50:50, the blend made co-continuous structure. So PC/ABS/MWCNT composites could make a double percolation structure. The electrical and the rheological properties of the composites that double percolation structure was increased compared to the others. From the above results, it is suggested that the double percolation structure effectively to enhance the electrical conductivity of the PC/ABS/MWCNT composites. |
