제목 | A Novel Polycaprolactone/Hyaluronic Acid /Hydroxyapatite Scaffold For Bone-Tissue Engineering |
초록 | The development of biocompatible materials which can be processed into three-dimensional scaffolds and design of appropriate configurations to enable the cellular infiltration and proliferation are one of the major issues in the tissue engineering. Hyaluronan benzyl ester(HyA-B), which can be processed leading to a great variety of products without altering the biocompatibility and biological activity of hyaluronic acid(HyA), has been found to be suitable substrate to grow a variety of cell types, because HyA has been shown to influence cell migration and to play an important role in tissue development and repair. Polycaprolactone(PCL) is a well known hydrophobic biodegradable polymer, which is non-toxic aliphatic polyester with biocompatibility. The PCL has a potential as a promising bone substitutive material because of its slow degradation property. However, the mechanical strength of PCL is too weak to use for bone tissue engineering. Therefore, to increase the mechanical and osteoconductive properties of PCL, porous PCL/HyA-B/hydroxyapatite(HA) composite scaffolds were prepared by photopolymerization of the PCL macromer in the presence of HyA-B and HA. The compressive mechanical strength and morphology of these scaffolds were examined. The cell attachment and proliferation onto the scaffolds was examined using osteoblast cell. |
