Fabrication of Gold Tube Arrays |

Array of metal rod or hollow tube has attracted attention because of its potential in electronic and optical field. In this study, gold tube arrays were fabricated by electroless plating of gold on porous poly (etherimide) (PEI) membrane. The porous membrane was prepared by phase inversion method to fabricate finger-like structure and then the PEI template was removed by N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP). The morphology and size of the gold tubes were controlled by PEI membrane. The outside diameter of gold tubes could be controlled by pore size of the template and their inside diameter was determined by time of electroless deposition. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to characterize the shape of the gold tube arrays. |
