Poly(2-hydroxylethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) hydrogels was successfully prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using 2-(2’-bromoisobutyroyloxy)ethyl disulfide (DT-Br) as macroinitiator. The disulfide-carrying polymer could be accumulated on the surface of gold shell-iron core nanoparticles which were synthesized by the inverse micelle technique having aqueous reactants, surfactant, co-surfactant and oil phase. The characteristics of the coreshell magnetic nanoparticles have been examined by XRD, TEM. The resulting novel synthesis and characterization of hybrid nanocomposites, PHEMA grating to gold layer coat iron nanoparticles, were confirmed by FT-IR, TGA XPS, EDX, SQUID. Thus, the synthesis of DT-PHEMA was a quite suitable stabilizing ligand to prepare inert magnetic nanoparticles and the PHEMA-f-MNPs hybrid would be useful in various applications for novel drug delivery systems, biomedical fields, ete. |
