Anionic ring opening copolymerization of 2,4,6-tris(3,3,3- trifluoropropyl)-2,4,6-trimethylcyclotrisiloxane (F3) with octamethylcyclotrisiloxane (D4) was facilitated and improved by using trimethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) as the initiator. The initiation began with the D4 and TMAH at 90 oC for 48 hr. The D4 and F3 were charged into a 1000 mL four-neck flask equipped with an argon gas inlet at 90 oC, and the mixture is added to a seed which is obtained by product of initiation. In this experiments, the propagation is started with addition of seed for 2 hr . Then, end blocking was conducted by addition of 1,3-Divinyltetramethyldisiloxane (ViMMVi) for 1.5 hr. Then, the solution was concentrated with a vacuum aspirator. As a result of analysis of viscosity, GPC test, and 1H NMR, the polymer of this study has obviously lower viscosity and polymer dispersity than the previous polymer. |
