Polymers were restricted for using radiant heating materials since thermal conductivities of most polymers are very low. To improve thermally conductive characteristics of polymer, i.e. PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), we prepared polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)/silicon carbide (SiC) composites by using internal mixer and hot press. Fractured surface morphology of the PPS/SiC composites was examined via SEM. Furthermore, thermal conductivities of PPS/SiC were measured by laser flash method. We also, their rheological properties were examined by using a strain-controlled rotational rheometer under small amplitude oscillation and complex viscosity and dynamic modulus in their melt state were reported. |
