Herein, we present size-dependent adsorption through competition of bending and adhesion of graphene oxide(GO) platelets with polystyrene(PS) nanospheres. In our previous report, graphene sheets can be wrapped on polystyrene(PS) nanosphere, induced by surface charge attraction in aqueous medium. According to our recent research, remained GO sheets in aqueous medium which does not participate in GO-PS hybrid formation showed larger mean value of lateral size than that of pristine GO sheets. Intensive investigation about effect of diameter of PS nanospheres and PS/GO quantitative ratio was performed, showing that size-selective adhesion of GO sheets with spherical particles imparted by competition between bending energy of GO sheets and attractive energy of ‘–‘ charged GO sheets with ‘+’ charged spherical particles resulted in well-controlled fractionation of GO sheets. |
