제목 화학산업의 Digital Transformation에서 공정 시스템 교육의 중요성
초록 The chemical industry has traditionally used data effectively for product development, process control, and so on. In recent years, with the wide spread of PIS (Plant Information System), rapid development of cloud storage and computing technology, it has become possible to accumulate vast amounts of data with various forms, i.e., Big Data, which is unprecedented. Therefore, the interest and demand for analysis of such big data are also increasing rapidly even in Chemical industry including oil and gas, which is highly conservative. The wave of digital transformation is not a matter of choice for Chemical industry: the only decision left is when to participate. Digital transformation also provides a great opportunity for Chemical engineers especially with process systems engineering (PSE) background. This presentation will emphasize the importance of PSE education in Big Data analytics in Chemical industry by summarizing author’s 15 years of personal experience as a professional data analyst – practitioner, researcher, and instructor – in several aspects including basic PSE subjects, data quality/contents, and process understanding.
